Aaron has been a professional writer for over 25 years. Best known for co-creating Disney’s AIR BUD family film franchise, he has worked in all aspects of film, television and digital and recently served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Writers Guild of America West.
Currently Aaron is writing the action feature BAD ALTITUDE for Halon Entertainment. Recent projects include the family feature PRINCES for Warner Bros, romantic comedy LIKE CATS & DOGS for Hallmark, holiday rom-com THE 12 DATES OF CHRISTMAS for ABC Family, action-comedy ARMOR HERO for China-based Alpha Entertainment, true story drama CHANGE OF HEART for Lifetime, and the independent feature CHAPTER ZERO, which he also directed. Aaron has also written film projects for Fox, New Line, New Regency, Lightstorm, Arnold Kopelson and others.
For television, Aaron developed drama series for Sony Television, Fox, Showtime, Paramount TV, Spike TV and ITV America. He recently wrote for the HBO kids show ESME & ROY and developed children’s programming for the Disney Channel and The Cartoon Network. Previously he consulted on ARMY WIVES and was a staff writer on the Fox TV drama KINDRED: THE EMBRACED. He wrote, produced and directed the web drama series SECRET DIARY OF AN AMERICAN CHEERLEADER, and in the kids’ space he developed animated shows for the Cartoon Network and Hasbro Studios.
In addition to his writing, Aaron is a Senior Lecturer and Professor of Screenwriting at Loyola-Marymount University. He has also taught at Stephens College, Cal State Northridge and Long Island University. Aaron has led screenwriting workshops and seminars around the world and recently wrote a book, The 11 Fundamental Questions: A Guide to a Better Screenplay, about his successful story-breaking technique.
Before being elected Secretary-Treasurer of the WGAW in 2015 and re-elected in 2017, Aaron served five terms on the Board of Directors. He also served on the WGA National Council. He is represented by Paul Weitzman at the Culture Creative Agency.
