Laura Fraser

Laura Fraser is a writer, teacher, and editor with experience in several non-fiction genres. She is the author of four non-fiction books, including the New York Times bestselling memoir An Italian Affair. As an award-winning personal essayist, she has written for the NYT's "Modern Love" column, as well as O Magazine and numerous other national magazines and anthologies. Her journalism has appeared in many publications including Vogue, Gourmet, Wired, Salon.com, Afar, the Daily Beast, the NYT Business section, Alta, and Craftsmanship. She has taught science writing, travel writing, personal essay, memoir, and editing at venues including UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, Stanford Continuing Education, Harvard's Nieman Workshops, Aspen Words, San Francisco State, the SF Writers Grotto, and her own workshops in Italy and Mexico.
Laura lives in San Francisco and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. She speaks fluent Spanish and Italian, is a devoted salsa dancer, and has kept a list of all the books she's read since she was 12.
